Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups cooked pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian herbs. Mix until just combined.
  • Form the meat mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the meatballs on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  • In a large pot, combine the cooked pasta and marinara sauce, mixing until evenly coated.
  • In a baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture, followed by the meatballs, and then the remaining pasta on top.
  • Top the final layer with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
  • Let the dish rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
