Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 12 ounces ziti pasta
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned.
  • While the sausage cooks, boil the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, ziti, marinara sauce, garlic powder, oregano, and half of the ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
  • Spoon half of the ziti mixture into a greased baking dish, then dollop with the remaining ricotta cheese.
  • Top the ricotta with the remaining ziti mixture, and sprinkle the surface with parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Allow the baked ziti to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
